| The brotherhood of Phi Kappa Psi was founded upong helping others. Philanthropy has been in our nature from day one and the tradition of giving back has been upheld throughout the years. The Cal Kappa brothers of Phi Psi have been on the forefront of creativity when it comes to the most unique, original, and successful philanthropies. Phi Psi was the first to bring UC Irvine the Fight For a Cause benefitting a new charity each year along with Phi Psi 500 which interactively allows the brothers to mentor underprivelaged children for a day. With no Philanthropy being too small, beach clean ups, soup kitches, and fundraisers are also consistently held throughout the year to total well over 2,500 serive hours annually! We also support philanthropies held by many other campus organizations, both Greek and Non-Greek, such as those shown in our "past events." |

FALL QUARTER 2009
In light of the recent and ongoing fires in Southern California, the brothers of Phi Psi at UCI wanted to reach out to help those victims for the first time. In partnering with the Red Cross, our goal was to supplement their program that ensures that each child who loses a home to fire is never left without a stuffed animal. Phi Psi ralled the Greek community at UCI to collect new stuffed animals and blankets for donation to the Red Cross. Additionally, the chapter pledged to match all donations in order to double the total. The event was a huge success with nearly 600 items collected in one day!

WINTER QUARTER 2010
The brothers of Cal Kappa are proud to be continuing the annual Phi Psi 500 philanthropy. The longheld tradition involves the full participation of the chapter in completing over 500 service hours in one day! On January 30, 2010, the brothers of Phi Psi along with the support of all UCI Greeks hosted a "Big Brother for a Day" program with the Big Brother and Big Sister Association. Each member was be paired with a "little bro" and got to hang out and have fun for the day at the carnival that set up just for the occasion! The event was a huge success and accumulated over 1,000 service hours in the largest event of its type! |

SPRING QUARTER 2010
Phi Psi's final philanthropy of the 2009-2010 school year was a clean up and restoration project with the Boys and Girls Club of Irvine. On this "National Day of Service," Phi Psi chapters all across the country teamed up with their local club (our official philanthropic partner) to help out in any way possible. Phi Psi brothers in Irvine helped repaint several hallways with fun designs for the kids as well as clean out and clean up several storage areas within the facilty! Thanks to everyone who came out to help make this event possible.
